About Andreas Dawn Guitars

Andreas Dawn Guitars are one of the most playable handmade guitars in the world for two reasons: sonic quality and feel. With Andreas Dawn guitars, you can play a jazz box that can morph into a rock giant or country twanger with the flip of a switch. The guitar’s unique design layers the world of hollow and solid body guitars into an instrument that can achieve the heavy tones of a Les Paul, the stinging bite of a Stratocaster, and the poly-harmonic sustain of a 335. All of this is achieved with A.D.G’s innovative design, which includes a center hollow chamber, a folded wood neck and head design, a clamped (not bolted) on neck joint … The result: Full resonance and sustain of a classic jazz hollow body, with the tight, punchy tone of a modern solid body electric guitar.

The Andreas Dawn Vision

In Randy’s own words –

“This guitar was born out of countless hours servicing factory production designed guitars that are popular today. I am talking about those that manufacture musical instruments at a high volume with little or no intimate knowledge of the character of the individual end product. Factories are for the business of mass production, not for Art. This guitar may one day ( due to demand ) become a factory product — I have a life time of experience of making factory style guitars, and know how it is done. But my design forces individual attention and specificity into each guitar by reversing the production tradition of removing material from a block or stick of wood to then take the shape of a guitar body or neck. Instead, this design is an assembly of hand picked, carefully designed structurally sound and sonic ingredients that make up a musical instrument meant to last forever with minimal moving parts (very low maintenance), that’s remarkable in the studio or on the road. Sturdy and pure. It’s reliability provides peace of mind and confidence to the artist. It’s Comfort allows creativity to emerge naturally. The bright yet thick and heavy tone even when unplugged is the result of years of revisions meant to eliminate countless hours of maintenance and disappointment with intonation, discomfort, premature string breakage and mostly absence of tone with common other guitars. Not one dimension was copied from another guitar and not one decision was made without serious sleepless consideration. I am proud to say it is in fact, a superior design, handmade … with minimal material waste.”
